Carbon Monoxide Sensors and Smoke Alarms
Dragon Villas owners and residents are warned that their carbon monoxide sensors and smoke alarms are now five years old and are out of warranty. These items need to be replaced to maintain protection against smoke and toxic gas.
Newer owners and residents may not know that five years ago, a resident of Dragon Villas was asphixiated by combustion gases leaking from the heating system. The leak resulted from corrosion in the walll of the heat exchanger caused by improper conversion of the heating system when LPG was replaced by natural gas.
After the accident, all heating systems were checked and modified by Lennox, the equipment supplier, since when t
he risks of a recurrence have been very low. Nevertheless, it is in everyone's interest to ensure that such a thing never happens again, and replacement of smoke alarms and CO sensors offers low-cost insurance against it.
Replacement smoke alarms and CO sensors can be purchased from the Beijing Ke Long Da Kang Technologic Development Company (phone 6327 1707) for a price of RMB 260 for a BJ-60A smoke alarm and RMB 480 for a BC-400 CO sensor. Please call Yinda's Management Office for more information.
